1“Come, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
2Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food.
3Incline your ear, and come to me;
hear, that your soul may live;
and I will make with you an everlasting covenant,
my steadfast, sure love for David.”
Stop seeking the things of this world and spend your heart, your thoughts and time on the things that are above, which are eternal! It costs you no money which cannot profit a man anything compared to his own soul! The soul WILL LIVE if we listen to Holy Spirit and consume the Words of God which are truly food and drink! It’s the Spirit that gives life, not the “letter ” of the Scriptures and we cannot live by food and drink alone but by every word from God’s mouth as he STILL speaks to us every day!
Holy Spirit is the voice of God “speaking” through nature because “The heavens declare the glory of God and the skies show his handiwork” even if someone never hears from another person about Jesus; no one is without excuse because God’s existence and power is evident in all that He has made!
But Born-again believers who have the Spirit of Christ and know that he abides in them and they in him don’t need to see outward manifestations of God’s omnipresence (although we do enjoy it!) because we have the very life, power and glory of The Lord Jesus Christ living inside us! We don’t have to see to believe because we walk by faith and not by sight!
Holy Spirit is like a deep well of living water within us and as we grow in faith and speak God’s Words; he bursts forth like a fountain of life from inside! The Spirit of Truth is promised to guide us into all truth and declare all that God the Father has to us because it was given to Jesus; who bequeathed it to us through Holy Spirit! But, we can’t expect to receive the river of life if we have damned up the source.
The Truth of what we already have in Christ is only revealed by the Spirit searching out the depths of God as deep cries out to deep. All our fountains are in him and in Christ is where we are nourished! Holy Spirit opens our eyes to wonderful things in the Scriptures and then we see the riches of Jesus’ glorious inheritance in us; and our faith is inspired to believe the same power of Jesus is actually inside us and working towards those who believe!
We can’t simply be content to believe in Jesus as Savior and expect to know the secrets of the Kingdom of God! We must forsake our own willful desires and seek the Kingdom above everything else in this world! Do you desire wisdom and insight into God’s will and intimate relationship with Him? Seek it and you will find it.
Ask for God’s “wisdom from above” more than anything this earth as to offer! TV shows, movies, games, hobbies are all ok in their own place but, if they receive more time than the things of God in your life; they have become a false god.
When we receive a love of the truth. When we hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness and cry out to the Lord for his wisdom and revelation; he will gladly give it to us! He is waiting to be asked. To be desired more than the finest gold…or smartphone, Social media, or whatever else captures the heart of men and women.
He is so much more worthy of our time.
When we see how worthy he is; our free-time becomes his time. We fast and pray because only he satisfies. We worship spontaneously and sporadically because we are so in awe of him. Our life becomes his life in practicality and not simply proper theology.
Christ is our life.
We live like we are crucified to the world and the world to us. All of God’s promises are true in Christ and we begin to experience the reality of his faithfulness because we abide in the vine and remain in Christ. In Christ is hidden all the treasures of God’s wisdom, knowledge and power! Christ is NOW in us the hope of glory! His glory is for us now if we are able to receive it but, we must take our focus of our desires and the cares of this world and direct them to one who deserves them…Jesus Christ!
““Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. ~ Rev.22:17
Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39But this He spoke of the Spirit
